Here at Montpelier Family Chiropractic we love our Coffee...a little too much at times. We decided to cut back on our daily caffeine levels by switch from regular coffee to a caffeine free alternative: Dandy Blend. Dandy Blend is a natural alternative to coffee It is made of water-soluble extracts of roasted roots of dandelion, chicory and beets, and the grains of barley and rye. Nothing else is added. While we make no claims for Dandy Blend other than that it is a delicious herbal beverage with the taste, body, and texture of coffee, the ingredients - dandelion, chicory and beet roots, and barley and rye grains - are all health-promoting foods respected throughout the world. We're happy to carry it in our office and share it with our patients. Stop in and try a cup.
I personally admit I was addicted to caffeine and would get disturbingly strong headaches when I'd miss a morning or afternoon coffee. The headaches didn't care if I tired to have a cup of coffee after the fact to make up for it in hopes they'd go away. Once here the headache was hard to get rid of. Over a weeks period I weaned myself off caffeine by replacing a cup of coffee with Dandy Blend every couple days. There were mild headaches in the transition process but overall I'm much happier now not having to cater to my caffeine fix around the clock. Dandy Blend can be made just as you would coffee, with cream or sugar to your tastes. I've gotten to the point where I'm okay having an occasional cup of coffee for old times sake, but when I do I tend to wish it were Dandy Blend. It just tastes better to me now.
